Innovation and Style From Sub-Zero Appliances

Sub-Zero appliances
The big name in top of the line refrigerators is Sub-Zero. They are by far the best looking refrigerators on the market, not to mention they are the farthest along in innovation and technology.

Sub-Zero appliances are mostly refrigerators. They come in that beautiful steel face; the one you see and know right away that it is a high quality fridge. They also come in a wood-paneled face that blends a little better when you have wood cabinetry in the kitchen.

Sometimes one refrigerator is not enough, or you want cold items kept in different parts of the kitchen to prevent too many people in one spot. For this, Sub-Zero has refrigerator and freezer drawers, which are often subtle and useful additions to the kitchen area.

There are, of course, Sub-Zero ice cabinets, but what I think is most impressive and useful is a Sub-Zero wine refrigerator. With one of these, you can keep your wine collection at the exact temperature you like it.

Innovation is key to Sub-Zero appliances. To keep food extra fresh in the refrigerator, these high-tech appliances have special air filters that help eliminate bacteria and pungent smells.

Sears And The EPA Working For Our Environment

Sears appliances
Sears is a huge suppler of appliances for American consumers. What most of us were unaware of is that our appliances, especially the older ones, have some things in them that are seriously damaging to the environment. There are CFC's, and HFC's that get released with improper disposal of the foam in the appliances; these are chemicals that deplete ozone and trap the greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming.

Sears is going to be the first retailer to begin working with the EPA's Responsible Appliance Disposal program. The store is going to offer recycling services for old appliances like refrigerators and freezers when new ones are purchased.

EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson released a statement that said, "When consumers buy new fridges and freezers from Sears, they can rest assured that the ozone-depleting chemicals in their old appliances will be disposed of properly." This is especially reassuring for those of us who might feel a little concern about what negative ways we might be affecting our world.

The EPA says that more than 10 million old refrigerators and freezers are thrown out each year. The EPA's Responsible Appliance Disposal program will hopefully assist in properly disposing of or recycling the products in at least 1 million of those old appliances.

Recycling Old Appliance Parts

appliance partsIf you are considering throwing out that old refrigerator or outdated microwave, you might want to put your trip to the dump on hold. These days, everyone is trying to be a little more Earth-friendly, especially with the threat of Global Warming we are all facing. Remember that old phrase you learned back in grade school: recycle, reuse, reduce? Well, that phrase applies to more than just your old newspaper.

There are companies and programs now that take your old appliances for you, sometimes even pay you for them, and recycle the appliance parts. If you were just going to throw the old one out anyway, you might as well give it up to a good cause.

There is always the option of calling the Salvation Army, if there is one in your area. They will come pick up your old appliances and give them to low income families who can reuse them.

A serious problem waste centers have been encountering lately is with old computers. People who don't know what to do with their old computer throw it in the trash. This is terrible for the environment, as a lot of the materials and chemicals in the computer and it's batteries are meant to be disposed of or recylced in a specific manner.

Look into the Appliance Recycling Centers of America. In Los Angeles right now, they are planning to recycle and replace fifty thousand old refrigerators for low income families over the next year. This organization, among a few others, provide America with a great way to recycle, reuse, and reduce unnecessary or outdated appliance parts.

Top of the Line Appliances

top of the line appliances
When you are looking into getting a new house, condo, or apartment, you should only expect top of the line appliances. You are looking for a new, clean, and stylish home; everything in it should be the same, especially the things you use on a regular basis, like your refrigerator, microwave, or washing machine.

Top of the line appliances these days are ultra-modern. They look so classy and futuristic, plus they work great.

Companies have definitely learned from their mistakes in the past. The consumers can expect more than burnt toast or shrunken clothing. Washing machines are able to detect how dirty your clothes are and measure water needs accordingly. How cool is that?

The New Wave of Kitchen Appliances

kitchen appliancesThe old basic design for kitchen appliances is on it's way out. Technology, innovation, and design have allowed us to improve not only the way our appliances work, but the way they look as well.

Buying the simple white refrigerators or stoves is a thing of the past. The ovens on the market today have warming drawers; the refrigerators are covered with stainless steel faces.

Washers and dryers are available in front load, super load, different colors, and can sense how much water is required based on how dirty your clothes are. Kitchen ovens, microwaves, and coffee makers are being built into the kitchen cabinets and drawers for a slick and conspicuous kitchen design that leaves lots of counter space.

The new age appliances save you money on your bills. They make them so energy-efficient now that previous models are completely outdated.

In our new days of "green", try to focus most on what kind of energy the new appliances for your kitchen might use. Some price tags are high, but you will end up saving loads of money through your monthly usage bills.

Designers of kitchen appliances have finally figured out how to make the new models encompass style and usefulness while keeping them environmentally friendly.

Wolf Appliances: Get Them While You Can

Wolf appliances

They say that owning Wolf appliances changes your domestic habits completely. People who don't cook suddenly have a passion for it. Those who don't drink wine are suddenly filling up their Wolf wine fridge. People who avoid the house suddenly want to spend time in their home.

Wolf appliances have more appeal than just the way they look. Don't get me wrong, they are definitely slick and modern appliances. The best thing about them, however, is the way they work.

Wolf is constantly coming out with products that utilize the most advanced and efficient technologies. The ovens and stoves not only cook better, but are more reliable and have all kinds of neat new features.

Wolf appliances used to be only for commercial use. They were only for the professionals for about seventy years. Now they are for the rest of us, at least those of us who care for quality.

New Earth-Friendly GE Appliances and Bulbs

GE appliances
When I think of General Electric Co., I think of GE appliances and light bulbs. That makes sense, since GE has been making incandescent bulbs for well over a hundred years. But times have changed, and GE has given in to Global Warming concerns about energy efficiency and plans to downsize it’s light bulb business.

GE is going to close 7 warehouses over the next year and about 1,400 employees will be out of work.

When one door closes, however, another is opened. Production of other "ecologically aware" lights, like compact fluorescent lights, is growing. Hopefully, that will mean more jobs and bulbs that are better for our environment.

General Electric has done more than just improve it's light bulb manufacturing. It has innovated many of the famous GE appliances we use every day.

Advanced products like refrigerators that use less energy and washing machines that use less water are helpful not only to the environment, but to the consumer. Less water and energy wasted is more money in the public's pockets.

We should hope that other companies will become environmentally responsible the way GE has done.
